15 DEI entries vie for the Diversity at Work Award of the 2023 Responsible Business Awards

The impressive 126 ESG entries are competing in the 2023 Responsible Business Awards 2022. Organisers from BBLF hail to all 82 companies that entered their best campaigns in the new edition of the upmost national social responsibility, sustainability and diversity competition.

We at the Diversity Charter in Bulgaria are especially delighted as this year’s competition has seen a remarkable growth of entries in the Diversity at Work category. 15 nominations, or 25% more than last year, vie for the prestigious recognition within the Annual Responsible Business Awards.  This dedicated category was introduced 3 years ago to reward best practices of creating diverse teams and inclusive work environments. Thus the local Charter, a joint initiative of the Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD) and the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF), aims to promote and encourage corporate efforts to build diverse teams, provide equal opportunities and inclusive workplaces.

This year 14 companies submitted their successful and inspiring entries. These include Charter signatories: Electrohold, IBM Bulgaria, ITX Bulgaria (Inditex) – the company submitted two DEI initiatives, Mondelez Bulgaria, Sensata Technologies Bulgaria and Zagorka. They were also joined by a number of companies that also implement equality and inclusion values: DXC Technology, Kin + Carta, Paysafe Bulgaria, PRESTIGE-96, SoftServe, SumUp, Yettel Bulgaria and Kamenitsa.

We would like to thank all entrants in this category for their trust in the Annual Responsible Business Awards, a high-profile platform for responsible companies and their efforts to create an environment of respect and equality within their organisations. Your good example can inspire many other businesses!

Initiatives ranked in Top 3 in the category will be invited to share their experiences in the now traditional best practice webinar exchange aimed at diversity, equality and inclusion professionals and experts. The online event takes place in April, in the run-up to European Diversity Month, which will take place in all EU Member States in May.

In addition, the big winner gets an added bonus, an invitation to the official opening of the European Diversity Month at the end of April in Brussels. The high-level event is part of the European Platform of Diversity Charters’ programme. As a member of this European network, the Bulgarian Charter regularly attends the meeting and last year the winners from Lidl Bulgaria also took the opportunity to exchange contacts, experiences and resources at European level.

The annual Responsible Business Awards are a landmark and long-standing project of the BFBL, providing a prestigious platform for responsible companies and their successful and inspiring ESG campaigns in support of people, society and nature, implemented in 2023.

An independent jury of prominent experts from different sectors evaluates the entries in the seven categories, and the winners will be revealed at an official high-profile ceremony on 19 March.
