EU Platform of Diversity Charters Meeting: Spotlight on Inclusive Leadership, Gender Equality, and Labour Market Inclusion

The EU Platform of Diversity Charters met on 1-2 December 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden to take stock of recent activities undertaken at the national level in EU Member States and strengthen cross-border collaboration, dialogue, and exchange on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at the workplace. The meeting took place during the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Swedish Diversity Charter providing a timely opportunity for peer-learning and sharing of good practices.

This two-day meeting featured a rich agenda full of interactive discussions on a range of topics. Charter representatives benefited from a practical session which examined the attributes of inclusive leadership and its role in cultivating an institutional culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The meeting included a story-telling session during which signatories of the Swedish Diversity Charter discussed their experience in developing tailored programmes regarding menopause to ensure that women have access to adequate support and information.

Participants also discussed the Pay Transparency Directive and how it is likely to affect signatories in their countries.  

Several initiatives for promoting the inclusion of migrants and refugees in the labour market were highlighted showcasing practical strategies for intercultural training. A key takeaway of the meeting was the vital role that the efforts to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion play in strengthening democratic resilience across the EU at a time of rapid global change.
