For a third year, Lidl Bulgaria became a part of the summer camp “Together Forward”, which are organized by the AreteYouth Foundation. They involve Roma young people aged 16 to 21 and aim to help motivate, inform and improve the lives of participants by encouraging them to complete their education (secondary and encouraging them to go on to higher education), take a more active role in their communities and create an active and supportive network of young Roma from across Bulgaria.
Lidl gets involved in the camps by sharing stories about the importance of education as a key to a successful career and giving young people the opportunity to learn more about the palette of career opportunities at a top employer like Lidl Bulgaria.
Education is a key step for the inclusion of Roma youth in the labour market. The Diversity Charter Bulgaria expresses its support for the initiative and commends Lidl for its participation.
