Shell Bulgaria Trains Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in Best Practices for Diversity and Inclusion

On 28 May 2025, Shell Bulgaria held a free training session for representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the topic “Diversity and Inclusion for Small and Medium Businesses.” The initiative is part of the project “Building Bridges”, initiated by Shell Bulgaria, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Bulgaria, and Lidl Bulgaria, aiming to promote best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the Bulgarian business community.

The training was supported by the Executive Agency for the Promotion of SMEs and the National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct. It took place at Shell Bulgaria’s office and attracted business owners and managers from SMEs. The speakers shared Shell’s international experience in the field of DEI, offering practical guidance on how to implement these principles in daily business. Participants worked in groups on real-life business cases, including a case study from one of the companies, focusing on developing a DEI strategy tailored to its specific needs.

The feedback received was very positive. Participants highly appreciated the practical focus of the training and the opportunity to apply what they learned within their own organizations.

The Shell Bulgaria team believes in the power of DEI principles and their positive impact on employee engagement and business performance. Through this initiative, the company aims to support SMEs in adopting best practices in this area by providing practical tools for creating a corporate DEI strategy.
