Unlocking Hidden Potential: Business Leadership in Refugee Inclusion

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and the British Embassy, Sofia are hosting a national conference “Unlocking Hidden Potential: Business Leadership in Refugee Inclusion,” which will take place on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia.

The event will bring together representatives of government institutions, the private sector, international organizations, and civil society to explore how refugee employment and entrepreneurship contribute to inclusive economic growth and how the private sector can play a leading role in fostering social cohesion through business engagement.

The programme features a high-level opening with speakers from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Bulgarian Industrial Association, UNHCR, the British Embassy, and the refugee community, followed by two thematic panels and interactive workshops:

Panel I: Employment – Private Sector Leadership in Refugee Hiring

Panel II: Refugee Entrepreneurship – Unlocking Talent & Innovation

Workshops: Practical sessions on employment pathways and refugee entrepreneurship

The event will conclude with the launch of the “Business for Inclusion” Pledge and Information Toolkit, a new initiative designed to guide and support companies in integrating refugees into their workforce and supply chains.
