Guided by a human-centered approach, Intellias has been dedicated to empowering women and integrating the principle into its corporate culture. It views diversity and female presence in the sphere as a catalyst for innovation and creativity. In 2021, Intellias signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) established by UN Women and UN Global Compact, declaring its commitment to gender equality and encouraging other companies to join the endeavor.
Intellias' Steps Towards Women's Empowerment
The DEI principles are embedded not only at the strategic level, but also in the day-to-day operations of the company. Its has developed policies and educational activities, such as awareness campaigns and trainings, to promote inclusivity. Their employees actively participate in and contribute to conferences and seminars, both inside and outside the organization, sharing best practices and insights on gender equality. Here are some of the Intellias’ cases:
IntelliWomen Community
An initiative that unites more than 450 women all around the world, the IntelliWomen Community. Created after signing the WEPs, it now represents 60% of the company’s female specialists. IntelliWomen is a space for mutual support and professional growth. Members of the Community have already held 25 meetings and participated in more than 30 external events aimed at empowering women. Moreover, it has already earned several awards in Bulgarian and global markets, in particular:
- Silver at the Bulgarian Forbes HR & Employer Branding Awards
- Bronze at Career Show Awards 2022 (Bulgaria).
- Special award from the jury of the SoDA Awards competition in Poland
Learning, Development, and Leadership
In 2023, Intellias joined forces with the KSE Graduated Business School to launch the IntelliLeader online training program. Among its participants are female leaders and managers. Attending workshops and individual coaching sessions, participants have the opportunity to reveal their potential, strengthen their leadership skills, and work on their own projects.
Intellias employees often join public initiatives to share their expertise and overcome the challenges that women still face. In particular, IntelliWomen members cooperate with the “Girls in STEM” organization and the Global Compact Network in Ukraine. The company also regularly participates in initiatives that promote women’s empowerment in IT, including the Hour of Code.
She Is Tech Conference
To promote gender equality externally in January 2024, with the support of UN Women, Intellias held a large-scale online conference, which brought together more than 2,500 IT specialists from around the world. Top female managers, entrepreneurs, leaders, and public figures discussed how gender balance can contribute to the evolution of tech industry. Conference attendees also had the opportunity to interact in a chat room, which has now turned into a platform for ongoing communication and collaboration.
IntelliParents Community
Intellias’ identity as a family-friendly company is deeply rooted in the company values and culture. Intellias creates a secure space for parents and caregivers and maintains family-friendly practices in our offices. With that in mind, it has established the IntelliParents Community, which enables parents to share experiences, communicate, and get support.
Additionally, the commitment to supporting parents was recognized when we received special recognition in the national “Family-Friendly Companies” rating.
Future Plans and Ambitions
Intellias is committed to further developing DEI-related initiatives. Its goals are to enhance support for our employees and create a safe working environment where everyone can fulfil their potential. Additionally, it is working on improving the gender balance and increasing the representation of women in leadership positions.
